About Us

The OvaHerero/Mbanderu, and Nama Genocides Institute (ONGI) is a community-driven initiative dedicated to documenting, preserving, and honoring the history and legacy of the OvaHerero/Mbanderu, and Nama genocides. Through research, education, advocacy, and remembrance, ONGI works to restore dignity to the victims and survivors, amplify the voices of affected communities, and promote justice, healing, and global awareness to prevent future atrocities.
